Dear Gossips,
If you’ve been following this site for a while, you know that most of us are big fans of Game of Thrones here. Joanna and Sasha don’t live for it but the point is, GoT gets a lot of love in this space. We can’t wait for it to come back. We have our theories. We have our frustrations. For example: Jorah Mormont NEEDS TO DIE. That said…
Well… as Sarah said on Twitter:
There were moments where Game of Thrones was brilliant this year but the best season of television it was not.

Also? Not that award shows should work this way but we all know it’s coming back in the new year and no one will be able to get over it when it’s over and we’ll be yelling at each other over whether or not that was the right way to end it and the point is there’s another season left to go with each episode planned to be the length of a mini-movie so… did it have to be now? Are we fighting? Duana and I already had a fight about our Best Dressed. And you will probably fight with us about who is your Best Dressed. So let’s fight. And agree. And commiserate. And celebrate too. This is why we love award shows. This is why I’m not sure it’s funny anymore to open an award show with two dudes who act like award shows suck. We did that before. It didn’t work with James Franco.
So please know that that’s not how we’re doing this today at LaineyGossip. We are going to scream at each other about who got robbed. And we are going to agree and disagree a lot about who wore what and we are going to sh-t on Justin Timberlake, which is the way it should always be.
But first, please enjoy this series of poses from Ruby Johnson aka Jenifer Lewis of black-ish. I write a lot about black-ish, how obsessed I am with black-ish. Every time Ruby is on the screen, my life is brighter, my world is better. Jenifer Lewis wore leggings and a sweatshirt and sneakers on the Emmys red carpet in support of Colin Kaepernick. This just a week after Nike released their new ad to soaring sales and a week after Kenya Barris, black-ish creator, who left ABC for Netflix, told The Hollywood Reporter about that episode that was scrapped last season, inspired by Colin Kaepernick and the NFL players who were protesting police brutality.
I mean, if anyone’s going to do it, it’s Jenifer Lewis aka Ruby Johnson.
So welcome to our Emmys 2018 coverage! We’ve been up all night. We’re posting as many photos as we can. We look forward to your emails and tweets. Thank you for visiting us today. Please scroll down and go back through the pages to get caught up.
Yours in gossip,
Lainey
