Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez were together all week, because they’re together all the time now. I don’t know about you but this is still such a gossip thrill for me. It’s been four months. And I continue to be amazed that we are in 2021, and we are talking about Bennifer, not nostalgically, but in real time. Like, sure, the reason why this is so incredible is because of the nostalgia, obviously, and still…
They’re back together. And it’s been an entire Bennifer Summer, I’m not tired of it, I don’t want to be tired of it, we shouldn’t be tired of it, because if we get tired of it, it means we don’t deserve this kind of gossip miracle!
As we’ve seen, Ben and JLo have been blending their families. And this weekend was all about family – on Friday they took their children to see Hamilton, joined by Ben’s mother, Chris, and then on Saturday it was the Magic Castle. The Magic Castle is a magic school, an academy, so they take the craft of magic very seriously, which is actually on brand for Ben because he’s big on Harry Potter, and I can’t imagine he wouldn’t have shared that with his kids. Reading may be something he has in common with JLo’s daughter Emme as they were seen visiting a bookstore a couple of months ago. So this is wholesome Bennifer content to go along with the heat we’ve had so far this summer.
In the bigger picture though, again, we’re only seeing what’s public, when they step out and are photographed. And if this is the situation from the outside, what are the conversations and decisions that have already been made on the inside to even get to this point in public? These two are working to make it work in presumably the healthiest way possible. With what looks to be the support of extended family and friends. Which brings me back to the beginning…
In 2002 and later in 2003, during Bennifer’s first run, Bennifer was one of two mega celebrity couples at the time, both with the same initials – the other being Brad and Jen, Pitt and Aniston, of course. All these years later and, well, this is not the couple that you thought would make it, in their roundabout way. This is the mindf-ck that gossip has given us in 2021.
