Jessica Biel received her first Golden Globe nomination this morning for her work in the series The Sinner, which she also produced. Conveniently she also went out for breakfast with a friend, giving us new pictures to go along with the story. This is a super cute outfit and I like every part of it, especially the shoes.
Jessica is nominated in the Best Actress, Limited Series or Television movie category. She’s up against Big Little Lies and Feud so basically she has to hope that Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Susan Sarandon, and Jessica Lange all cancel each other out. Which is not going to happen, even with the voter fraud drama involving BLL and whether or not they gamed the system, because Jessica Lange will probably be the one to benefit from any BLL fallout.
That said, for Jessica Biel, it’s definitely an achievement and a solid validation in career strategy. Back in September 2016, when it was first announced that Jessica would be working on The Sinner, I wrote that this was the right move for her after so many years of trying to become a movie star. This is not an insult, especially not anymore. Not all movie stars can come into your homes for an hour a week for several months at a time. Sure, Nicole Kidman pulled it off, but would Jennifer Lawrence be able to? I don’t want to see Leonardo DiCaprio in a television series either. Or maybe I do, and then, on a weekly basis, more people would realise how overrated he is. For Jessica Biel, television sets up more favourably to her skills. And immediately she’s being recognised for it.
Jessica was at the Globes last year because her husband was repping that terrible song he wrote for Trolls. Do you remember them on the carpet? Please, let’s revisit this moment:
JT: "my wife is the best". For promoting HIS movie. So, basically, she deserves praise...when she works for HIM. #etalkGlobes pic.twitter.com/T2KY2VPPLm

Oh wait, there’s more:
Shocking: when you live at Justin Timberlake's, his movie plays over and over and over again. #etalkGlobes pic.twitter.com/qMSBa4IsNl

In 2018, Jessica Biel will be back at the Golden Globes as a nominee for the first time. It will be about her. Will it be about her though? Is it ever about her? Two months ago he tried to wish her a happy 5 year wedding anniversary on Instagram and she didn’t show up until the second paragraph and the post became an announcement that HE’s working on new music.
On January 7th, Jessica Biel, the Golden Globe nominee, will accompany Justin Timberlake, nominated for jack sh-t, to the Golden Globes.
