No surprise, 1917 won Best Picture at the BAFTAs last night. This was expected and it now goes into the Oscars, with voting ending tomorrow, the overwhelming favourite after taking the PGA, the DGA, and the BAFTAs. But remember, La La Land did the same so Parasite still has a chance, especially among actors, the Academy’s largest voting branch. Oscar experts keep talking about how passionate people are about Parasite, especially among actors – and we saw this at the SAGs, when the room gave it multiple standing ovations and the film won Best Ensemble, the SAG equivalent of Best Picture.

The British Academy, however, would never not crown 1917. And here’s Jodie Turner-Smith, who was live-tweeting from the event last night, and calling it out at the same time:

She would have gone in even harder had it not been for Joshua Jackson, LOL:

I’m with the person in her mentions who’s like “LET HER LIVE, JOSH!”

Still, it’s hard to be mad at him when he’s living his best life. I mean, he is LIVING right now. Jodie is a goddess who is having his baby. He’s obsessed with her. I’m obsessed with her. How could you not be, with her shady tweets and the way she looked in this gorgeous yellow gown, one of the best dresses we’ve seen this entire award season, if not THE best dress this entire award season. Can anyone at the Oscars on Sunday match this woman’s glory?

Look at this gown! It’s Gucci, it’s sequined but it looks light and frothy, which is hard to do whenever you have embellishment. But she could float and I’d believe it because of the way the skirt’s been designed to seem like air, diamond-glittering air. You see how the sequins in the yellow skirt are absorbing and popping out all that light? It’s so exquisite I can’t breathe.

And she kept snatching the air with her Twitter commentary.

Here’s another one:

Now imagine if Josh hadn’t been editing out all the tea??!
