Dear Gossips,
Back in February, around Lunar New Year, I wrote a post at The Squawk about the Year of the Dragon and Red String Theory. This particular Year of the Dragon is also known in Chinese culture as a Widow Year (it has to do with calendar math and leap years) and the older generation like my ma is superstitious about the effect that has on romance and relationships. Basically the elders don’t think a Widow Year is a good time for marriage. And, well, some of the celebrity gossip we’ve seen in 2024 so far would support that.
Any Year of the Dragon, however, Widow Year or not, is big for babies. Chinese people love dragon babies, many plan for dragon babies, and while I’m pretty sure they weren’t intentionally trying to have a dragon baby, Justin and Hailey Bieber now have themselves a dragon baby!
The comment section under any Bieber post is usually a mess. But this one made me laugh:
In case you missed, there was a whole theory that was shared everywhere originating on TikTok, obviously, that JB Sr and Hailey were expecting a girl and that they’d call her Plum. Not even close.
Back to astrology though and the dragon baby Bieber born to Dog and Rat parents. JB Sr is a Dog, Hailey is a Rat, a compatible combination. And as I mentioned last week in my post about Lewis Hamilton, Rats and Dragons are considered a power couple. Good vibes all around. It’s probably too much to ask but, hopefully, that extends to social media.
