This outfit on Kate Beckinsale isn’t much…but it’s a lot at the same time. Is it a dress? Would you call it a dress? Or is it more like a bathing suit and a cover-up? If she was wearing sandals or flip-flops and she was standing on sand with the ocean behind her, you wouldn’t think twice of it, right?

Which is fine. No one is objecting to beachwear. I just don’t know if I want the red carpet to turn into the beach.
