A fashion post now because there were a few good looks happening in NYC yesterday, starting with Katie Holmes who showed up at Tribeca Festival premiere of Alone Together hand-in-hand with her boyfriend Bobby Wooten III, the second time in as many weeks they’ve stepped out in public. This never happened (as IF) with Jamie Foxx and it also didn’t happen with Emilio Vitolo Jr and given how private Katie’s been since the Tom Cruise days, this feels like a big statement, a sign of their commitment, in many of the significant ways that two people can be bonded for life… if you get what I’m saying without saying it.
As for her outfit, I do love this white crochet dress, it looks great on her, but um, WHAT ARE THESE SHOES? I’m actually glad we can’t see all of them because just the front is bad enough, let’s not make it any worse with the whole thing.
Also in white in New York yesterday – Emma Thompson in a matching off-white set that is 100% my aesthetic and I want to know where I can find this (if it’s affordable). You can dress it up with heels or sandals if you want. It also works with sneakers and rain boots – it’s versatile and comfortable and I also love her hair right now and everything about this fit makes me feel good.
Finally, black on white on Jessica Chastain at the Tribeca premiere of The Forgiven in a body-con black dress, standard silhouette but the finishing detail is that white tie. SO good. It’s Ralph Lauren if you want and have the budget.
