Katseye understood the assignment, dressing up in Mariah Carey inspired costumes ahead of Mimi season

Dear Gossips,

We are two days from October 31 and as far as I’m concerned, the only thing happening on October 31 is that there will be a World Series game played in Toronto. Whatever else is associated with that day is irrelevant to me. Given the circumstances, though, it’s probably the most I’ve been excited for October 31 in a while. Most years I just want it to be November 1.

Until then though…

Not yet.

It’s not time yet.

You know what this means, right? This is a treasured annual tradition that only our butterfly treasure, Mariah Carey, can perform. And yesterday it happened – she posted what she now always posts in the waning days of October, just before her takeover begins. Because, of course, we all know by now, Mimi is Christmas.

Mimi is getting more and more Christmas every year. It was just announced yesterday that this year Mariah Carey’s Holiday Bar will be popping up in four cities: New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and Las Vegas. The bars will feature a “Mariahfied cocktail experience”, LOL, and wall-to-wall Mimi Christmas themed décor, and photo booths etc etc etc. Basically the most Mimi you could ever want for the holidays.

Mimi is also doing a Vegas holiday residency from November 28 to December 13 at Park MGM. So let her rest for these precious last few days in October because her sleigh is on the way, our butterfly is about to kick off her busiest six weeks of the year.

In the meantime, if we have to talk about costumes, Katseye understood the assignment. It started with a teaser yesterday… “she’s defrosting”, followed by Mimi’s unmistakable voice singing one note:

This of course follows their flub from the VMAs when they blanked on naming their favourite Mariah Carey video. Which they call out, before bringing in Bowen Yang.

And then they proceed to dress up in all the videos.
