Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter gave Bill & Ted fans a little reunion this weekend – the two met up for dinner with their respective partners. Keanu was accompanied by artist Alexandra Grant, his long-time girlfriend and Alex was with his wife, Ramsay Ann Naito. They were out for pizza ahead of what should be a few days of Keanu sightings.
Because, of course, we’re just over a week away from the release of The Matrix Resurrections. We should see Keanu at the premiere. And it’ll be interesting if the return of Keanu to the Matrix will be a major box office draw. West Side Story opened soft this weekend and it could be a combination of factors as people may be hesitant to go back to theatres with another COVID wave happening and, of course, the seeming dwindling appeal of adult-oriented films in theatres. That said, the Matrix and also Spider-Man: No Way Home are pure blockbusters. So the industry will be watching very closely to see how well those two perform.
Not that it will make a difference to Keanu’s star. He’s box office proof. He’s had stinkers, he’s had winners, and I don’t know that it’s ever held against him – it shouldn’t be. If there’s any actor who earned his pass, it’s him.
