This is not usually the kind of outfit I like. I’m still not sure that I like it. But I also can’t say that Kerry Washington doesn’t look good in it. She looks GREAT. Because, I think, she kept everything else simple.
She had to. This jumpsuit is EXTRA. There’s a plunging neckline. There are embellishments. There are cut-outs. AND there’s a train! It’s a lot going on at the same time. Which is why she kept her makeup subdued and the hair sleek and straight and unfussy. All of that served to downplay the rest. And besides… did you see her walk out? Kerry was the first presenter. And she was feeling herself – a lot of hip swaying, a lot of attitude. She was daring you not to be into her look. Sometimes that’s all it takes.
