Lady Gaga stopped in to see Donatella Versace in Milan yesterday. At some point during their visit, Donatella must have taken her into the vault. Because Gaga stepped out later wearing one of the most iconic Versace dresses of all time. Off the top of your head, you can probably remember just two -- Jennifer Lopez’s green Grammy gown might be the other? But this, this is a true Gianni original. And it was Elizabeth Hurley who cockblocked an entire red carpet with it in 1994 at the premiere of Four Weddings And A Funeral with Hugh Grant. Gaga would have been 12 years old. Back then it was a collective gasp: a woman wearing a dress held together by safety pins - let’s clutch our pearls!

Now it’s a mere shrug. Almost safe, in fact. And the only purpose it serves here is an excuse for some Gossip Nostalgia. Because, like, remember Liz and Hugh (before he drove around LA looking for a blowjob)?
