There was a lot of shimmering silver on the Emmys red carpet last night. Sarah Paulson wore silver sequins. So did Anna Chlumsky. A few others we’ll get to later. And Laverne Cox. Who wore the sh-t out of her gunmetal silver/grey dress, making the dress better than it deserved to be, really, and came to show off her nails – a new limited edition collaboration with Orly called Celebrate Yourself.
This is what Laverne does every time she steps onto a red carpet. This is why she’ll never be an asshole when someone asks her “who/what are you wearing?” Because many women don’t get the chance to be asked that question. Because the fact that she gets to be asked that question is and was for some an impossible dream, BLAKE LIVELY. So, no. You won’t find Laverne Cox lecturing a reporter on a red carpet, trying to figure out why she should be insulted by a fashion question.
That said, I actually liked the dress that Laverne wore the night before the Emmys more than the dress she wore to the Emmys.
