I knew it from the minute I saw her, this was the one. This look on Lily Collins could challenge any of the looks we’ve seen during award season so far. It’s exquisite. Even though navy blue is not usually my jam. Even though a sheer skirt isn’t usually my jam. But this blue and sheer is not like other garden variety generic clue sheers.

Let’s start with the structure in this jacket – we hardly ever see a dark, thick jacket like this over a sheer skirt. The reason why so many women wear sheer skirts and dresses is because they want to show skin. So the jacket, the opaqueness of it, is already a surprise. And the skirt, the way it falls, it’s like a medieval veil. And kind of royal too, right? It’s giving me royal vibes. It’s so pretty and elegant and sharp and different but not too different, not too out there that it doesn’t fit the occasion and this is the standard I’ll be taking into the Oscars. This is the kind of dress porn we need at the Oscars.
