Intro for October 3, 2024

Dear Gossips,    

Before “It’s Time”, there’s another annual tradition that Mariah Carey has become known for. “It’s Time” is now always preceded by “Not Yet”, and Mimi has officially kicked off the month of “Not Yet” with a post on her socials … in the most Mimi way possible.

First of all, she is reclined. Of course she is. The woman works her hardest for six weeks a year, let her rest her feet before she has to go back out there and be the Queen of Festive from November to mid-December!

But also, she’s not just reclined anywhere – as you can see, Mimi is sending us a message from the PJ. And it’s the bit at the end, “They always rush me”, the cheeky exasperation in her voice. Because there’s some truth to it, at least on my part. Mimi season, aka Christmas, begins on November 1, after Halloween. And some people, like me, can’t get over Halloween fast enough. We’re the people asking Mimi if it’s time yet all through October. It’s not that we want to our precious butterfly out there before she’s good and ready, it’s just that, well, Halloween is so f-cking annoying. There are some people who make Halloween their entire personality. Others, like me, make our entire personality about hating Halloween. If you’re new to these parts, this is what you can expect for the next few weeks, until Mimi tells us “It’s Time”.
