Red boots like this, to me, always feel costumey. Maybe because it’s Halloween. Maybe because there are so many superhero movies. But any goodwill I’ve ever had – probably not much – for an over-the-knee red boot is now gone.
That said, the red boot can obviously be styled so that it stays as far away from Halloween and superheroes as possible. I almost like the way Mila Kunis did it. Almost.
Wouldn’t this outfit have been so much better if it was just the white shirt and no black blazer?
My eyes have their own preferences, of course, and I’m just not into all these blocks of colour. Big swaths of black on top of a large swath of white and then alllll that red. Two, sometimes, is better than three.
