The word “still” before “apart” in the title there is probably unnecessary. “Still” suggests that it “apart” may be temporary, and that there’s a chance that might change. But it’s not looking like there’s a chance or any hope that whatever is going on between Bennifer will change, or change back to what it was. “Still apart” is looking like it will soon become “permanently apart”.
Jennifer Lopez yesterday was photographed looking at homes; Ben meanwhile was papped at his office; neither one was wearing rings. Officially they’re still married, but at this point it’s less a matter of if they will remain married as it is about when they’ll confirm that they no longer wish to be married. TMZ reported a few days ago that they’re not even talking and that everything is being handled through their business managers. Apparently the goal is to reach a settlement agreement first, before filing documents, so that everything is all tied up right away. Like by the time the papers go public, it’ll be done and over, all the legal and the financials etc.
Page Six however is saying that it’s Ben who’s deliberately going slow on the divorce proceedings because “he’s very protective of her”. Is this the same source who told Page Six a couple of months ago when all of this blew up that he “came to his senses” and decided to quit her because being married to her was a “fever dream” and he would file on grounds of “temporary insanity” if he could? Make up your f-cking mind. Are you protecting her or are people who claim to be in your circle trying to paint her as a pain in the ass?
The same source is supposedly saying that JLo is “humiliated” by what’s gone down because he was the one who pursued her to get back together after all these years and that now Ben’s “holding off filing for divorce in order to avoid humiliating her further”.
So I guess that’s the gossip angle we’re going with here, and it feels like déjà vu from 20 years ago, doesn’t it? Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are breaking up and she’s the dumbass, idiot, desperado, attention-obsessed talentless bitch who is the BIGGEST LOSER in this situation and he couldn’t wait to be rid of her and go about being famous, quietly, since he’s such an expert at that … but, you know, give him bonus points for being SO KIND in sparing her as much embarrassment as possible.
Everybody on board with this? Of course. That train left the station a long time ago.
