So much steeze to choose from this week I can’t just pick one. Especially not when Lil Nas X is all over NY Fashion Week showing out in a wide range of styles. Vogue spoke to him at the Coach show because he’s an ambassador and he talked about how he’s in a new era now – working on new music and also a new aesthetic. You can see some of that in progress with the fits over the last few days.
The pink turtleneck under the red plushy crop jacket and jeans was a moment.
And I love him in the red trenchcoat over a one-shoulder mini-top:
And then, of course, the paisley print at Thom Browne with the doggie bag. This bag!!!
No matter how great the actual pieces of clothing are, though, anything ends up boring if there’s no personality, no charisma, to go with the fits. And on that note… check out the fashion potential in this shot of Lil Nas X with “hip-hop’s new princess”, Ice Spice.
Like Lil Nas before her, Ice Spice broke out on social media, her sound went viral, and the labels started paying attention…with a look that is all her own. The signature hairstyle – she exploded onto the scene with a clearly defined look. No one else is going to look this original in this green dress:
Over to Berlin and Anne Hathaway because this Valentino dress is a showstopper. These are leather bows connected together over sheer dots. And I know the long gloves aren’t for everyone, but they really complete the look. This is spectacular.
And finally, Kristen Stewart as only Kristen Stewart can in Chanel. It’s the juxtaposition between the flouffy girlish dress, that bow around her neck, and her mullet hair with the haunted makeup. That is also exactly the right shoe choice – which would have been all wrong on Margot Robbie (and why Chanel is so not suited to her), but perfect on KStew. The style character here is “Victorian ghost haunts a theatre”. Best person for the part.
