Yara Shahidi has been on promotion the last couple of weeks for Peter Pan & Wendy premiering today on Disney+. She’s been in New York since at least Monday making the talk show and radio rounds, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see her at the Met Gala – she’s a Dior ambassador and Dior, for me, is a lot more exciting on Yara than on Anya Taylor-Joy. (Worth noting here that the feathered red dress Anya wore to the Tiffany event last night was NOT Dior but Dilara Findokoglu.)
Yara’s press looks over the last few days have all been outstanding. And varied. It’s a great mix of street style and classics. Like this white outfit for Good Morning America:
But then, wait for the switch-up:
I am OBSESSED with that denim suit – the structure in the jacket, the wide-leg pants, so good! But there’s variety in the denim too. Because she also stepped out in this denim dress with high boots and, I mean… these boots.
Not done with denim, though. Here’s another pair of jeans in a lighter wash with a cropped white shirt and padded shoulders:
And then, back to the carpet for my favourite look of them all – this Bottega Veneta dress in typical Bottega grey but it can’t be boring because of the design features. It’s giving baroque and modern at the same time. Also, another pair of killer boots.
But if not for Yara, my look of the week would have been Natasha Lyonne at the TIME 100. The dress itself is lovely with the wings forming the bust and the pockets on the sides. But it’s the overall styling here. We don’t often see Natasha without the bangs, but she’s swept her hair back, an old Hollywood blowout – sweeping in waves off the side, the perfect hair texture, really. And such a great changeup from her usual aesthetic.
