Oh WOWWWWW. Look at Patricia Clarkson in the Czech Republic in this long beaded gown that looks like sunrays cascading down her body. It’s a gorgeous dress and she looks gorgeous in the dress. (Go Fug Yourself)
I’m writing this before the 9am PT SAG-AFTRA board vote which by all accounts is just a formality – there’s going to be an actors’ strike. And there’s already a writers’ strike. So we’re going to be feeling the content pinch pretty soon. Which, I guess, means it’s a good time to go back and catch up on what you’ve missed, including the best movies of 2023 so far, as determined by The Ringer. If you haven’t seen Past Lives, please get on it! (The Ringer)
An over-the-counter birth control pill has been approved in the United States and it will be available some time next year so the next step is awareness, making sure women know about it and are able to access it. This is also a good time for me to talk about the abortion pill – because I don’t think there’s enough awareness about that either. In Canada the abortion pill is free in every province. In some cases you can get it sent by mail. Last year I attended an event and almost half the people there didn’t know much about it so ask the questions, look up the information, and spread the word.
