Oh well maybe Us Weekly’s Jennifer Aniston story from earlier today makes more sense now because PEOPLE has their own exclusive about Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. Apparently they’re getting along much better now after a lot of family therapy. Brad was even seen leaving Angie’s home recently. This is a much more interesting story than Jen spending a lot of time writing during quarantine. But Us Weekly tried their (not) best. (Dlisted)

I try not to think about our dogs and aging because, well, you know. It’s just never long enough. One of the common formulas that people refer to is the 1:7 thing. Like 1 year of human life is 7 for dogs. Is there science behind this? Or is there new science? Here’s how age works in our home with our dogs. Our dogs have stayed young when they come into the home and there’s an older dog. Barney was a puppy for years when Marcus was around. When Marcus died it was like he became an adult overnight. And Elvis is now four but because Barney is his big brother, he still acts like a baby. He also acts like an unremorseful prick but this is a different conversation. (Cele|bitchy)
If you are a Black woman who just wants a safe place to sit down, maybe read a book, or get back to some emails on your laptop, or just sit and contemplate, sometimes a tree outside a church isn’t a safe place for you. Which is f-cked up because churches are supposed to be welcoming of all of God’s children. Obviously for the LGBTQ+ community, this hasn’t always been the case (understatement!), but if the big message is love and acceptance, some people need to do better in the name of the Lord. (TMZ)
Kathleen wrote a piece for Refinery29 yesterday about being a Black woman working in media and how quickly Black journalists have to modify or give up on their dreams because of systemic racism. This is about her pain, about the conditioning and the trauma she continues to work through, and about the broken ambition she is still mourning. In the piece she references me and my past racist, homophobic, transphobic, misogynistic, and other problematic past posts. And some of you have written to ask why she refers to me as her “former boss”. It’s because Kathleen joined Refinery29 on an exclusive basis. She does, however, as you know, join us on our Show Your Work and What’s Your Drama? podcasts, we always consider her a member of the LaineyGossip family, she’s basically the president of our teen movie viewing parties, she produced me on our show Cravings: The Aftershow earlier this year, and we are proud to feature her work in our archives.
