Dear Gossips,
Jennifer Hudson wore a custom pink Vera Wang dress to the Screen Actors Guild Awards last night where she was nominated for Best Actress for her performance as Aretha Franklin in Respect. The night before, at the NAACP Image Awards, it was custom Christian Siriano:

JHud was the big winner at the Image Awards, winning Best Actress and Entertainer of the Year. Issa Rae also won big as she took home the award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series and Insecure was named Outstanding Comedy Series.
We will forever love #InsecureHBO!💛 Congratulations to @IssaRae for winning Outstanding Comedy Series at the 53rd Annual #NAACPImageAwards! ðŸ‘🾠pic.twitter.com/idHSCrn0L4

As you can see, pink was a fashion theme this weekend. Issa went bright to JHud’s soft:

In addition to Issa, Natasha Rothwell was also repping Insecure with her win in the Supporting Actress category:
I’m still in London and I just woke up to this news! I’m fully weeping!

Thank you @naacpimageawards for the recognition and to @issarae, @the_a_prentice, @nortivarg and the entire @insecurehbo family for giving me the gift of Kelli. She’s changed my life.
MY HEART IS FULL.ðŸ™ðŸ¾ pic.twitter.com/4iCQJ0qotI
But no one was repping Insecure last night at the SAGs because the show, after its final season, a series widely acknowledged to have left a major legacy in television, was snubbed across the board. So while there were certainly some moments to celebrate at the SAGs, and we’ll get to that throughout the day, it’s still pretty embarrassing that the union that represents actors seemed to skip over the existence of the one of the most impactful shows of the last decade.
Yours in gossip,
Lainey
