Princess Kate stepped out today to support her “Back to Nature” garden at RSH Wisley. She’d previously unveiled her garden at the Chelsea Flower Show back in May – this is the permanent version, meant to encourage kids to spend more time in nature and build a healthy lifestyle from childhood. Here’s more information about the project.
Kate arrived on a tractor today, accompanied by Mary Berry and dozens of children invited to play on the swings and run through the sandpit.
Since this is Kate’s third garden, her remarks weren’t all that different from previous times she’s spoken about gardening. I can’t imagine that there’s all that much variety when talking about gardening so, you know, nothing she’s saying here is all that fresh…LOL. Yep, I’m gone. I’ll leave through the back door.

But before I go, I’m not trying to be a sh-t, I actually have a point since I’ve been TIFF-ing for a week and on film lounge and red carpet duty interviewing celebrities who’ve been through interview after interview, saying the same sh-t, like Kate’s doing here. She’s basically a celebrity at a junket who has to answer the same opening question: tell us about your movie. Celebrities have the flexibility – if they’re not lazy – to change up the answers, to have some fun with it, so as to get the message out there and make it more interesting, to keep it different. Royals don’t have that luxury of being loose and spontaneous, especially not a royal like Kate whose husband will one day be king. There’s only one move: play it safe.
As you can see, Kate theme-dressed for the event in floral pattern for a garden party. This is Emilia Wickstead and it’s definitely Kate’s cut, a dress shape we see her wear often which I do like on her but the print here is… I mean it’s not the strongest floral print we’ve ever seen. Kinda boring, actually. Erdem, a label she also wears often, has much better floral options. Like this one. If I were styling her, I would have put her in this one.
