Prince William and Catherine attended a dinner at the Royal Palace in Oslo last night as part of their tour of Sweden and Norway. Kate wore a McQueen dress, embellished around the neckline, and caped around her shoulders. I like it. I’ve liked her entire wardrobe during this tour – the coats have been lovely, the two Erdem dresses she’s worn have been unexpectedly of the style moment, and this McQueen is so much better than that lace all that Jenny Packham lace business she usually favours.

Interestingly I’ve gotten a few emails from people this week about Kate’s style recently, wondering whether or not she’s picked up her style game because there’s been an addition to the family. I mean, I don’t think Meghan Markle is giving her tips, but having a girlfriend around can be a really helpful eye in the dressing room, and a different eye than the Middleton eye which has had its moment and could use a break.

A couple of weeks ago, there was a rumour that Prince William was frustrated with their staff because Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped out together on the same day he attended a public engagement. Do you think Kate’s marginal wardrobe improvement has something to do with that?
