The Queer Eye guys are officially Hollywood’s popular kids. Everyone wants to sit at their table. Everyone wants a selfie with them. They’re the coolest guys in town. When Jonathan, Tan and Antoni were spotted hanging out with Gigi Hadid, I wrote that they were the new hot friend commodities. Then Maria speculated about who was going to friend collect them first: Taylor or Gwyneth?

Well, they’re both going to have to get in line. As I mentioned earlier, Mandy Moore was so excited to see the guys, she wrote on IG, “I’ve already won! I can go home now!” Sis, you weren’t even nominated but OK.

Karamo (we’re not going to talk about what he’s wearing) found the dominoes table at the back of the cafeteria and got a pic with Issa Rae, Donald Glover and Yvonne Orji.

Joey King posted that she’s “obsessed” with Queer Eye along with some photos of her with Tan.

So, what is it about the Queer Eye Fab Five that is turning grown ass famous people into fanboys and fangirls? I’m sure it has something to do with the gay best friend fetish that pop culture has perpetuated forever but I think it’s also because Queer Eye is a reality show so the actors at the Emmys don’t see them as peers. Also, Queer Eye is a safe, feel-good reality show to watch if you’re a celebrity. There are barely any celeb references and the Fab Five seem classier than, say, the stars of Vanderpump Rules. It’s OK to obsess over Jonathan, Antoni, Karamo, Tan and Bobby (sure) because they’re famous but they’re also Hollywood outliers. Am I overthinking this? Are they all just super nice dudes who are fun to hang out with? Probably.

I enjoyed the concept of their presenter bit – basically the guys were suggesting makeovers for each of the Lead Actor in a Drama Series characters. Brilliant. As hard of a time as I give Antoni, I’ll admit that I laughed at his “super simple ceviche” joke.
