Dear Gossips,
As I’m writing this, I have two windows open on my laptop right now and another window open on my phone, in queue for Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty, her new line of lingerie. The site officially launched at midnight in 210 countries and, clearly, a lot of people care. And want? To buy or to look!?! This tweet pretty much sums up my feelings:
If y’all ain’t buying nothing and just looking, get outta the line before the shit I want be sold out π©π©π© #SavageXFenty

Needless to say, Rihanna’s just produced another smash hit. It’s the price point for sure. But it’s also the fact that the pieces are for almost all bodies, as reflected in the modelling. Click here to see a selection from the collection. I’m down for at least two bralettes. But also I need these leggings to go under an oversized hoodie:
I also need this bodysuit to go under a blazer or a moto jacket. Those sleeves are DRAMA:
As annoying as it is to have to wait for these pages to load, you know what I love about this situation? She knew. Rihanna knew that this would be the reaction. That’s why a counter was built into the website:

Duana and I talked about this when we discussed Rihanna, CEO on the last episode of Show Your Work. This is what happens when there’s a demand, when there’s been a market that’s been underserved. And, finally, someone came along to meet the need. Which is smart business, for sure. But you have to wonder why it took this long, when it’s not like bigger companies didn’t have the resources. So…does that mean that they actively chose not to be inclusive?
Anyway, I’ll be here all day waiting to give Rihanna my money. If you’ve already given her your money, let me know what you got.
Have a great weekend!
Yours in gossip,
Lainey
