R Kelly has been in solitary confinement for a month. He’s charged with all kinds of gross sh-t and awaiting trial. Now his lawyers are saying he’s having a hard time and asking that he be allowed to enter general population. I know none of this is funny but the writing here, by Kristian for Dlisted, the “no one will notice him!” part, made me laugh. How would R Kelly do in gen pop? Like Kristian, I’m afraid to know the answer. (Dlisted)
Well here’s some good news to hang on to this weekend: Alex Trebek is back to work on Jeopardy and they’ve released a video to celebrate the start of the new season, with Alex reassuringly back as host. It’s reassuring to see him. It’s reassuring to hear him. He speaks as authoritatively as ever – a little bit patronising (please, we love this about him), never melodramatic, and always informative. These are chaotic times. And yet, on a show called Jeopardy, this man is a constant comfort. (Pajiba)
If not for Iman, Ruth Negga would definitely have been the Outfit of the Week. But not the dress she wore for the opening night Venice Film Festival gala. I prefer the gold jumpsuit with the high collar and v-neck and all the accessories. It’s Louis Vuitton. Just like the metallic custom dress she wore to the Golden Globes a couple of years ago, one of the best Golden Globe dresses we have ever seen. (Go Fug Yourself)
Jennifer Aniston reflects on the 90s and how even it seemed to be calmer then. But she also talks about how, now that she’s 50, she’s been able to slow down. She’s making big moves this fall though on her new Apple series, The Morning Show. I can’t wait to watch it. (Cele|bitchy)
Speaking of Jennifer Aniston, everybody’s talking about this piece by Scaachi Koul about Friends, how “it hasn’t aged well”, and she goes IN. (Buzzfeed)
