Salma Hayek hit up Glastonbury rather than attend the moral Red Wedding. This is interesting because her husband was there and because she has been photographed with Lauren Sánchez several times over the years (which in this ecosystem counts as a “ close personal friend”). Salma is rich rich rich but she also strikes me as someone who reads the comments and has a general awareness of what is going on.
Skipping it to publicly attend another event? Oh she’s paying full price for that Prime membership for the next little while.
It’s July 4th in Canada and Fourth of July in the US. Chris Pratt is controversial but he shares an opinion here I can get behind – why tape fireworks? Who is that for? I’ll take it a step further and say why post fireworks? The videos are so janky! Just watch the boom boom glow. It’s meant to be a fleeting moment.
And we can’t talk about Fourth of July without reminiscing about Taymerica, a pop culture event that gave us so much gossip. Will it ever come back? Probably not this year. PEOPLE has an interesting story about Taylor’s recent win (reclaiming her masters) being “more special” because of Travis Kelce. Hmmmm. No shade to Travis or their relationship at all but Taylor is about her business. This deal would have taken lawyers, accountants, managers and a lot of negotiation. Taylor has proven her business acumen time and again. I don’t really see how that is tied to her relationship.
Is the story that she is winning in her professional life and fulfilled in her personal life? Yes. But “even more special” is specific framing.
Happy Gilmore 2 comes out at the end of this month, a press tour I’m actually kind of looking forward to. Julie Bowen has talked about it on two podcasts, Inside of You and Fly on the Wall. She said she is surprised she was brought back and assumed Happy would be with a younger woman. It’s a logical assumption for most films but not with Adam Sandler. I would have to look up his filmography and check the ages, but isn’t he often partnered with someone his own age? I just think of him as being married to Jennifer Aniston in every film. Just like Paul Rudd is always married to Leslie Mann.
The Beckhams are big anniversary celebrators (same with birthdays) and David tagged all of his kids in his post, including Brooklyn. The kids always wish them a Happy Anniversary, let’s see if the Cold War continues. Brooklyn recently posted about his father-in-law so we will see.
OK I’ve heard of a Baked Alaska, but I have no idea what it is. I looked up a recipe and I’m sorry, that is insane. Cake, ice cream, meringue and a blow torch? This is too far. I would of course try it at a restaurant but I don’t think I’ve ever seen it on a menu? Someone tell me where to get this.
