Saoirse Ronan was in Avignon, France yesterday for Louis Vuitton. She’s been an ambassador since January 2024 and fronted the SS25 campaign that dropped a few months ago.

Saoirse looks great in this slip dress but the fashion wasn’t the conversation – or, rather, speculation.

We don’t have to be awkward about it because the Irish Independent has confirmed that Saoirse and Jack Lowden are indeed expecting their first child. This is a major national publication and it totally tracks that Saoirse, who is Irish, would want it to make it official through Irish media.

Saoirse is styled by Danielle Goldberg, whose client list also includes (among others) Ayo Edebiri. Ayo was also out last night – at the premiere of season eight of Big Mouth. You’ll recall, when Big Mouth started, it was Jenny Slate who voiced Missy. Ayo was writing for the show when Jenny stepped away from the part to make space for a Black performer to take on the role. Ayo was not mainstream at all when she first started playing Missy. And now? She’s just as famous – due in large part to The Bear, which is premiering in a month. So, two series already and we’re not even done with the first half of the year.

In the second half, Ayo’s major release will be Luca Guadagnino’s After The Hunt, with Julia Roberts, Michael Stuhlbarg, and more. The film will open in October and presumably will make a festival run before that – Venice, TIFF, Telluride… all of them must be negotiating for it. And probably Luca will take it to Venice, considering his track record there?

My point is, we’re in for many more fashion moments from Ayo in the weeks to come as we approach season four of The Bear and then promotion for After The Hunt. Because, already, everyone is looking forward to seeing the silliness she and Andrew Garfield will be in for together.

What else happened today…

Jennifer Lopez was out in New York in a dramatic white dress with an exaggerated hip, I’m into it. But then I remembered she’s hosting the American Music Awards on Monday which is a much more high profile event and that means that as dramatic as this look is, she’s saving a bigger splash for the show. (Go Fug Yourself)

Kayleigh Donaldson is super intelligent but she’s not artificial. Here’s her summer reading list and if you don’t understand the title, the Chicago Sun-Times would like to keep it that way. (Pajiba)

Kris Jenner’s face overshadowed Lauren Sánchez’s bachelorette party in Paris because that’s what everyone was talking about. In a good way! The work is impressive! Now she’s apparently confirmed who her surgeon is. (Celebitchy)

It was a matter of time. Top Gun is coming to Vegas – a thrill ride/experience so that you too can feel the need for speed. And then afterwards, when someone asks you how it was, please tell them that “it’s classified, I could tell you, but then I’d have to kill you”. (EW)

Today is the 20TH anniversary of a big event in gossip history - on this day 20 years ago, May 23, 2005, Tom Cruise jumped on Oprah’s couch! And now, two decades later, he’s opening his latest big movie! I wrote an essay at our Substack, The Squawk, about the impact of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes on Oprah and how it changed not only their careers but also the entire gossip ecosystem. (The Squawk)*
