Dear Gossips, 

A few quick notes to kick off the day – updates on some stories that are unrelated but there’s not enough to put into individual dedicated posts for each. 

 

We are now exactly a week away from the Queen of England’s Platinum Jubilee celebration weekend. Next Thursday is Trooping the Colour, which usually happens on a Saturday but it’s been moved to Thursday this year to accommodate the other events on the Jubilee schedule. One of the biggest stories about Trooping is the balcony situation and who’ll be on it – or, rather, who won’t be. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not join senior members of the royal family for the balcony moment but they apparently WILL be in attendance the next day, Friday June 3, at St Paul’s Cathedral for the Service of Thanksgiving. That occasion will mark the largest gathering of the British royal family since Harry and Meghan were married in 2018. As you can imagine, the British tabloids are all snotty about this but also excited, because it means they’ll be assured some Harry and Meghan coverage. 

It’s been reported that Harry and Meghan will be travelling to England with their children, Archie and Lilibet …and if that turns out to be the case, Lilibet will be spending her first birthday (June 4) in London on the occasion of her great grandmother Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee. 

 

Next – Leonardo DiCaprio and Camilla Morrone. In my post yesterday about Leo in Saint-Tropez with the photos that we have access to, I wrote that I didn’t see Camilla in any of the yacht shots, leaving open the possibility that she could have been in the cabin and not pictured, or maybe not even in Saint-Tropez. She is indeed there and was papped with Leo (we don’t have a subscription to get those images but you can see them at the Daily Mail). This definitely boosts the odds of Camila being the only Leo girlfriend to still be his girlfriend past the age of 25. 

And finally, Madonna and FKA twigs first connected publicly last year and last week they were partying together in LA and this week their friendship tour has stopped in London where they were seated next to each other at the Central Saint Martens BA graduate show the other day and seen hanging out again last night. Over the years, Madonna’s girl-friendships and how she performs them have often been more iconic than her romantic ones. Sandra Bernhard, Debi Mazar, Rosie O’Donnell, Ingrid Casares, Stella McCartney, and of course Gwyneth Paltrow. 

 

Late last year, Sandra actually talked about their past, briefly, and while she didn’t go into detail about why their friendship went south, she did say that:

“For a while, we had a real friendship, but it’s hard for somebody like her. She doesn’t really want somebody around who reflects too much of who she is. Therefore, her relationships just don’t last.”

But then Ingrid jumped on Twitter and called Sandra a liar: 

Anyway, FKA twigs now appears to be Madonna’s new BFF. I’m enjoying this show.
