Beef came up big at the Golden Globes last week. Last night they picked up several more wins – for Ali Wong and Steven Yeun in the lead acting categories, Maria Bello in supporting, and the series was named best limited/anthology.
If the last two events are any indication, it’s looking like it’ll go the same way tonight at the Emmys. Which means we can talk more about Beef after the Emmys. Right now, I want to talk Beef fashion. Because I feel like what we saw from both showrunner Lee Sung Jin (Sunny) and Steven Yeun will be way more interesting that what they’ll wear tonight. My prediction is that tonight they’ll go back to formal – standard tuxes, no flair – since the Emmys are considered the pinnacle of television recognition.
At Critics Choice, though, the approach was much more fun. I love Sunny’s pink printed suit and his hair is both cute and swaggy.
And then there’s Steven. In pearly white Louis Vuitton Damier – and cropped!
I’m telling you, more men should be considering the dressed-up crop like Steven and Barry Keoghan. It’s so fresh and stylish, this look on Steven is going to be one of the very best men’s red carpet appearances of the year, guaranteed. I love that he decided to go for it here. And I hope that he’ll bring the same energy tonight… even though I don’t expect it.
