Benjamin Button’s brightest star looked like heaven last night in form-fitting white and an open back and restrained accessories and unfussy hair. Hustle & Flow was one of the options on the plane flying over here. Yet another reminder of her scene-stealing abilities. Scene-stealing from bland Brad Pitt is one thing…but stealing from Terrence Howard is another.

Taraji is terribly underrated and she’s undoubtedly an underdog for Best Supporting Actress. But my boss Morley thinks she could upset Penelope Cruz. The Academy likes a surprise in that category. Tilda Swinton wasn’t even close to being a lock going in last year either.

However it shakes out though, it can only help the profile. And this is good. We need more Taraji. After this season, hopefully she’ll get more work.
