The cast of Scandal has yet to film their final episode but they are already promoting it. They did a small promo tour at the beginning of the season, when it was first announced that the show would be ending, so this round almost feels like a pre-emptive victory lap. I’m not sad to see Scandal go. I think it’s ending at the perfect time but I am sad that this cast won’t be together anymore to give adorable appearances on Ellen.
The entire cast of Scandal showed up on Ellen for the last time together and if you’re a fan of the show, take some time out of your day to watch all three segments. It’s worth it, I promise.
First up, Scandal’s core four – Kerry Washington, Tony Goldwyn, Scott Foley and Bellamy Young – sat down with Ellen to chat about table reads and how much of a dick Scott Foley is, which explains why I’m so attracted to him. #TeamJake
So, he’s like a playful dick that everyone still likes. That’s comforting. It’s not comforting that they still have no clear idea of how the show will end and they’ve shot the second last episode. Season seven has been uneven at best. I hope they at least give us a satisfying conclusion that involves Jake and Olivia standing in the sun. Yeah, I said it. Let’s fight.
Next, Ellen brings out Guillermo Diaz (Huck), Katie Lowes (Quinn), Darby Stanchfield (Abby), Jeff Perry (Cyrus), Josh Malina (David) and later, Joe Morton (Papa Pope), George Newbern (Charlie) and Cornelius Smith Jr. (Marcus.) F-ck, there are a lot of people in this cast. It’s a hard interview format since there are so goddamn many of them but it’s all still very endearing. For the Gladiators out there, we learn a few fun tidbits about the cast. Scott Foley is very competitive about shirtless scenes! Joe Morton doesn’t like Britney Spears! Katie Lowes and Joe Morton needed DEBBIE ALLEN to choreograph that scene when they were swaying back and forth to Britney Spears! Tony Goldwyn likes naps! There’s a nice moment where Ellen thanks the cast for bringing the inclusive and ground-breaking characters Shonda Rhimes created to life but mostly, watch for shirtless Jake and Fitz.
Finally, watch the entire cast play a game that reveals even more reasons why I’m so attracted to Scott Foley. It ends with another touching Ellen moment that may or may not have made me tear up. I’m going to be a mess on April 19th when the season finale airs. Until then, I’ll be fantasizing about who Scott Foley is f-cking in his trailer. I know it’s probably his wife but what if it isn’t? Scandalous.
