If you’d like to learn more about it or are confused about how to use it, read on!

First off, what it is?

The Squawk is a LaineyGossip community for discerning gossips to squawk together and discuss all things pop culture. It’s part pop culture website/part social media hub but without the trash and trolling. It’s a place to discuss what we write here on LaineyGossip.com or to just freestyle in our chat forums with like-minded gossips looking to share ideas, experiences, and opinions. We’ve found it to be super engaging, very supportive, and a great place if you’d like to socialize but are tired of the likes of Twitter and Facebook.

How much is it?

Some of our Squawk content is free.  For full access to The Squawk’s features including the ability to post comments on both the chat forums and in comment sections below dedicated Squawk posts, there’s a monthly fee equivalent to about $6 Canadian, with small variances for currency exchange depending on your home country. Annual memberships are available at a small discount, and if you’d REALLY like to support what we do here on LaineyGossip.com and The Squawk, Founding Member subscriptions allow you to contribute more as you wish.

How do I sign up?

You can sign up by clicking through to The Squawk from here or anywhere where you see links to the Squawk on our site. You’ll be taken to a sign-up page if you’re not yet signed up with Substack. You enter your email, and a verification link is sent to that email. Go to your email and click the link, and you’ll be taken to a sign-up flow where you can enter your preferences.

And you’re all set! From here navigating The Squawk should be relatively self-explanatory, but if you have any questions or get stumped in any way, please email jacek@laineygossip.com and we’ll be happy to help.

I don’t like to use apps.  Can I use the web to view The Squawk?

Yes!  Web browsing is totally doable if you’re on a desktop browser.  Just click “use on web” when prompted to install the app and you will jump through to the web-based chats.  If you’re exclusively visiting from a mobile device, you will have to install the app to take part in the Daily Chats, but you can view the main section via web as well.

The chats are set up daily and are freestyle forums where you can discuss anything you like with a tight group of supportive Squawkers! They can be found under the “Chat” tap from the Squawk main page, and will look something like this when you land on the main thread:

From there, jump into the day’s chat threads and start chatting.  If you have any questions about the setup or use of the app, please email jacek@laineygossip.com.

Thank you for your interest! Squawk on!
