I’ve been debating for an hour whether about this outfit – not debating its amazingness (there is no debate about that) but whether or not I should have held it for the Outfit of the Week post because I can’t see how any outfit will be better than this one.

That said, this is Tilda. And it’s not like we’re ever going to have a shortage of amazing Tilda Swinton outfits. So here we are… the latest:

There is so much to admire in this black dress that has a lot going on but somehow still feels simple and unfussy and awesome. Like, this is not an insignificant amount of embellishment, all down the sleeves and around the neck and the sides of the body and along the hemline. The embellishment itself isn’t low-key either. Somehow though, the effect isn’t over-the-top. Or gaudy.

Of course this isn’t just an ordinary black dress – it’s layered, almost like there are two panels, one in front and one in the back, with a shorter dress situation happening underneath. And those BOOTS.

See? There’s a lot going on. And on anyone else, it would look like there was a lot going on. On Tilda though, it’s perfect. It’s totally just right.
