Timothée Chalamet was photographed out in New York the other day. On the same day, Lily-Rose Depp was also papped in NYC, although they weren’t near each other, and the sightings weren’t connected. But fans on Twitter started speculating that since they’re in the same city around the same time…maybe?

It’s a big city. Two people being in New York at the same time doesn’t have to mean that they’ve romantically reconciled. Although in this case, perhaps the wishful thinking paid off?

Because yesterday Timmy was seen running some errands and, according to the paparazzi, Lily-Rose was waiting in the car. I can’t see whoever it is in the car purported to be Lily-Rose, but this is what the paps are saying, whether or not you believe it. I know I want to believe it. Should we believe it?

It was just about a year ago now that Timmy confirmed in an interview with British Vogue that he was single. That was the only breakup information that was made public. There were no rumours about a split before then, and there were no reliable details about why they split after.

Two months later Twitter went wild when he was in Mexico making out with Eiza Gonzalez. He and Eiza were papped together once more in LA shortly afterwards but then, by the fall, it was reported that Timmy and Eiza were no more and Eiza had moved on to someone else. Timmy meanwhile has kept a low profile and has never spoken about their relationship except when he was addressing those now infamous shots of them kissing on a boat. For the record, and I have the group chats to prove it, I thought those shots were HOT. Our site manager, Emily, can also confirm it because I remember messaging her about how much I wanted to acquire them for the site, and how sexy I thought they were to the point where she was like, enough already. Last fall, Timmy told GQ that:

“I went to bed that night thinking that was one of the best days of my life,” Timothée told me. “I was on this boat all day with someone I really loved, and closing my eyes, I was like, indisputably, ‘That was great.’ And then waking up to all these pictures, and feeling embarrassed, and looking like a real nob? All pale? And then people are like: This is a P.R. stunt. A P.R. stunt?! Do you think I'd want to look like that in front of all of you?!”

His embarrassment aside, the notable part of this quote, if you’re a romantic, is how happy he was at the time with “someone I really loved”. If you were Lily-Rose, how would you have felt reading that? I can see it in a rom-com, can’t you?
