If you’ve been reading this site a while, you know how I feel about hair luck. Back in 2008, I covered the Super Bowl in Glendale, AZ when the New England Patriots lost to the New York Giants. It’s probably one of the best Super Bowls of all time, even though it wasn’t all that high-scoring, because the Patriots were working on a perfect season. They hadn’t lost until the Giants beat them. And I remember I said this, the minute I stepped onto the field and saw Tom Brady, he had just gotten his hair cut, that that was going to be a problem. WHYYYYY would you cut your hair before such a huge ass game?

Anyway, it’s not like it matters now. He’s won two, or maybe three, I can’t keep track, since then, including a few days ago, for his sixth title. And today he had his “victory shave”:

If the thing is not to shave until afterwards, why wouldn’t you apply the same thing to your hair? I don’t know why I’m still so hung up on this. Nobody cares anymore.

So let’s talk instead about Tom’s interview on Good Morning America with Michael Strahan the other day and what he said about Gisele Bundchen’s support:

"She's my rock. I married someone that is—I know is my life partner. She's just one of the most caring, nurturing people in the world and the way she takes care of our family when I'm working, sacrificing a lot of her dreams, you know, that she wants to do for me, I can only tell her I love her so much and she knows and she feels it and this is—family is so important to me...My parents were there last night, my sisters were there and it's just—it brings you so much joy when everyone is there to celebrate with you, so she's got my back, I have no doubt about that and she knows I have hers."

Well, to clarify, he’s trying to have her back a lot more:

"I think for her, you know, a lot of times, you know, things revolve around me in the house because football's a schedule…and a lot of ways I'm absent in a way and lose track of my responsibilities in the house, you know, and I think she carries the burden a lot of the times," he admitted. "I don't do much and I think that's the thing that…I'm going to do a better job of because she deserves it, too."

This sort of ties into what Gisele wrote in her book, the thing that’s been making some headlines – because she talked about why she and Leonardo DiCaprio broke up. Maria mentioned it in Celebrity Social Media last week, that Gisele was interviewed in Porter and reflected back on when she was in her 20s, drinking and smoking and partying too much, living out of a suitcase, and decided to make some changes in her life. One of those changes was Leo:

“No longer numbing myself with smoking, drinking and too much work, I was becoming more and more aware of things that I’d chosen not to look at. Was I alone in wanting to do some serious soul-searching while he stayed the same? In the end, unfortunately, the answer was yes.”

Staying the same is what Leo has done since he and Gisele broke up. Which was in 2005. Which is the year he took her to the Oscars, the only time he’s ever done this at the Oscars:

I wonder if that was him trying to keep her. Like, oh sh-t, she wants more, let me just give her this, see if it’ll be enough to shut her up. By May of that year though, this is what they looked like at a basketball game:

This is Photo Assumption, obviously, but still… anyone’s Photo Assumption would be that Gisele.Was.Done.

Eighteen months after that she met Tom Brady. And Leo still hasn’t dated anyone over the age of 25.
