Like, I KNOW that Julia Louis-Dreyfus is consistent excellent. She’s also acknowledged for being consistently excellent. There are a lot of people who are consistently excellent but who go unappreciated. Tracee Ellis-Ross was a nominee so it’s not like she’s not being appreciated which is why, I guess, I can’t complain. I won’t complain. You can’t really complain about JLD. Instead, let’s focus on where Tracee won.

Tracee has become a regular at fashion week. Paris Fashion Week. NY Fashion Week. A lot of people go to fashion week. Not many get to wear fashion week. Especially Paris Fashion Week. Tracee was in Paris in July for fashion week. And she went to Chanel. Last night she wore Chanel. Chanel doesn’t typically show up at the Emmys. But Tracee Ellis-Ross isn’t typical. As she said during her red carpet interview with E!, “The only one! The only one, kids!” The dress is one-of-a-kind. And, to my knowledge, it was the one Chanel dress of the night. I’m sure you’ll tell me if it wasn’t.

It was probably the best of all the feathers though. Feathers aren’t normally my thing. You know why I don’t mind these feathers though? Usually when we see feathers, they’re attached to body-con. Something strapless and tight from top to bottom. The billowing wide long sleeves balance the feathers, a little throwback to her mother, with a 70s vibe. Those sleeves neutralise the annoying feathers. And the braids do the rest.
