Vanessa Paradis married director Samuel Benchetrit just outside of Paris this weekend. Daily Mail has photos here. I LOVE her look. I love the look of a veil like that – without a tiara and set back, but flat. So pretty, right?
This is Vanessa’s first wedding. She and Johnny Depp never married. Here’s what he said back in 2010 when asked why:
"Marriage is really from soul to soul, heart to heart. You don't need somebody to say, okay you're married. If Vanessa wanted to get hitched, why not? But the thing is, I'd be so scared of ruining her last name. She's got such a good last name."
It’s not like Amber Heard took his name but anyway, as we all know, obviously neither one of them wanted to, as he put it, “get hitched”, and now she is properly hitched – to Samuel who has the honour of being Vanessa’s only husband. And everyone looks delighted, including her two children, Lily-Rose and Jack who were both there at the ceremony. If there’s a honeymoon though it’s not happening yet because Vanessa and Lily-Rose were both repping Chanel as usual at Paris Fashion Week but you can see that Vanessa has a certain post-wedding glow, non? Just me?
And now I’m going to compare myself to them. Or, rather, compare my ma and me to them. I have my ma’s body. Our shape, I mean. It’s the same shape. She has smaller breasts and calves but the overall dimension is almost identical. It’s like knowing what you’ll look like in 25 years. And this is true of Vanessa and Lily-Rose. There is no doubt who her mother is.
