Last night was the UK premiere of Trap, with director M Night Shyamalan in attendance with his daughter, Saleka, one of the stars of the film, and Josh Hartnett who arrived with partner Tamsin Egerton.

Josh has been making headlines recently while promoting the film. There’s a Taylor Swift connection here since the movie is about a police hunt for a serial killer at a pop concert, and Josh said in an interview that he really understood what modern concerts are like after taking two of his daughters to The Eras Tour in London

People are also talking about Josh and why he’s kept such a low profile for so long, after being on the cusp of superstardom in the early 2000s. This is coming out of his interview with The Guardian and it basically boils down to his discomfort with fame. There were stalkers, there was obsession…and that may have actually been me, because I have written over the years about how I obsessed I was with him after 40 Days and 40 Nights. I loved Shannyn Sossamon after A Knight’s Tale. I went into that movie for her and came out of it with a huge Josh Hartnett problem. And obviously it wasn’t just me with Pearl Harbour and his other projects around that time that eventually became overwhelming for me.

But he’s talked about all this before. Back in 2015, I posted about it when he was featured in Playboy and essentially repeats all the talking points that he’s relaying in The Guardian piece – it’s just that this is getting a lot more heat now because of Trap and, maybe, nearly a decade later, with Josh deep into his 40s, a father of four now, and appearing in The Bear and headlining a Shyamalan film, we and he are ready for the Hartnettaissance. Which is what Sarah calls it. And I’m specifically bringing this up because of this sentence in The Guardian profile:

“We’re a hair’s breadth away from someone calling it the “Joshonaissance.”

Excuse me. We’re not a hair’s breadth away, we are here, and Sarah already called it! I’m claiming credit for her because I’m that petty ass bitch. Going forward, then, as we approach the release of Trap and whatever thirst that’s about to be unleashed, please refer to it by its proper name. The Hartnettaissance, thank you.
