Queen Feelings x 2
Did you see what happened the other night in Vegas? It was a supernova of FEELINGS when Adele greeted Celine Dion during her show.
“Let me photograph you in this light
In case it is the last time
That we might be exactly like we were
Before we realized
We were scared of getting old
It made us restless
It was just like a movie
It was just like a song”
I mean it’s THAT song where she always goes into the crowd and talks to people and gets up close and I know since I’ve been to see her how emotional that part of the concert is, so everyone is already crying and THEN, it’s Adele face to face and tears for tears with the Queen of All Feelings and, well, all of us, we are a mess in this moment, right?

You know what it is for me, though? It’s when Celine’s son reaches over to check on his mom, puts an arm around her to comfort her. This is when I fall apart – out of gratitude! It’s wonderful to know, despite what she’s been through, that her kids are holding her down. That they seem to have inherited the very gene that makes Celine who she is: the feelings gene! Her kids have feelings. They understand that their mother is made of only molecules of feeling, and they are not only there to receive her feelings but encourage and support them. Our Queen is well loved at home!
And, by the way, she is actually at home. Because of course Adele performs at the house that Celine built, literally. Please let us never forget that it was Celine who forever changed the relationship between Vegas and performing artists. Adele has long revered Celine but at the same time, she was doing what should be done: paying tribute and honouring the artist without whom her own show in Vegas would not be possible. With feeling, of course, with feeling.
As for what Celine must have been feeling?
Well, the memories, how many memories must have been flooding over her that night, remember that this was her stage, for sooooooo many shows. Remembering how much she loved it, for so many years, and especially after the health struggles she’s endured recently. And perhaps the hope, the hope that, one day, she can do it again. We’ve seen signs of that possibility this year, she said that was her goal. She’ll put every f-cking feeling she’s ever felt, and even new ones that humanity has yet to discover, into making that happen.
