I’ve been asking during our liveblogs occasionally (which have been temporarily suspended while I’m here in Toronto), and during the MTV Movie Awards, where Zac Efron has been. There have been very few pap shots of Zac for a while. Smart move. Don’t let us have too much. Make them miss you.

The expression is Absence Makes The Heart Grow Fonder. And in Zac’s case...

True? Or did you not care to begin with?

Thing is, I’ve always been medium about Zac Efron. But after not seeing him for a stretch, and then seeing him all man and lean on the beach...

Maybe it’s more like medium plus now. The challenge with Zac of course is that he was just so Boy before. Teen. I’m not saying he’s not Teen anymore. It’s just... staring at Justin Bieber all the time... I guess that’s made things all relative. Ultimately, whatever your feelings about him, it was a good move to go underground for a while. So many of them don’t understand why this is helpful, sometimes essential, and can be very good for a career.

But his friends look douchey, non? I guess you throw a group of shirtless guys together, wearing boardshorts and shades, and it might always end up being the same result. That’s the effect of the MTV generation.
