Dear Gossips,
Zoe Kravitz was photographed for the first time since being cast as Catwoman in the new Batman movie – she and husband Karl Glusman were seen in New York yesterday. Karl, by the way, posted this on Instagram when the news first broke about Zoe playing Selena Kyle:
I love that image. They should consider using it in the marketing.
The Batman is rumoured to start shooting in January and it does feel like we’re getting close, with Jeffrey Wright reportedly being offered the role of Commissioner Gordon, Zoe confirmed as Catwoman, and Paul Dano stepping in, likely as The Riddler. For months there’s been talk that director Matt Reeves’s Batman story involves a rogues gallery of villains. So it looks like they’re locking in the final round of casting before the holiday break so that they can head into production at the beginning of 2020.
Before we even talk about Batman though, there will be Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman 1984 opens in June 2020. While that’s still eight months away, marketing plans have to be set well in advance. Director Patty Jenkins tweeted this the other day:
So excited to bring #WW84 to the fans in Brazil! And the world!! Tune in, and see you soon #CCXP! #DayOfWonder #Finally!! pic.twitter.com/wrwTpozXZo

Patty and Gal Gadot will both be in Sao Paulo for the Comic Con Experience on December 8 and that’s when the first trailer for Wonder Woman 1984 is expected to be seen, about six months from release. It’ll keep building from there. If I had to guess, I’m thinking Wonder Woman 1984 will have some kind of presence on March 8, 2020 which is International Woman’s Day.
Until then, here’s my weekly mention of Zoe Kravitz’s wedding dress, the wedding dress I want to see the most. And the one we are least likely to see at all.
Yours in gossip,
Lainey
