Emmy voting begins today, and one of the hopefuls is Natasha Lyonne, star of Russian Doll. Yesterday she attended a Netflix “FYSee” Q&A to promote the show’s Emmy hopes, alongside show co-creators Leslye Headland and Amy Poehler, her co-star Charlie Barnett, editor Todd Downing—that show depends so heavily on the editing, I am glad to see him included with the key creatives—music supervisor Brienne Rose, and cinematographer Chris Teague. Full Story

Award season roundtable roulette continues, and this time, it’s the drama dudes up to bat. The roundtable features Stephan James (Homecoming), Diego Luna (Narcos), Richard Madden (Bodyguard), Billy Porter (Pose), Hugh Grant (A Very English Scandal), and Sam Rockwell (Fosse/Verdon). That’s a solid group, and just as with the comedy gals Full Story

Dear Gossips,

Let’s open today with what I sent Duana last night – “for your joy” is how I titled the message. Because I came down with a cold on Sunday that I think I may have passed on to her, as she was starting to feel it yesterday.  Read Full Intro

Blair, our production coordinator at The Social, just walked into my office while I was watching Lady Gaga on Jimmy Kimmel last night. He raised his eyebrows, and I told him that “the A Star is Born Oscar campaign is still happening and the Oscars were four days ago”.  Lady Gaga was on Kimmel to promote A Star is Born. Full Story

I wasn’t expecting to see Gwyneth Paltrow on the cover of Variety this week, this of all weeks. It’s Oscar week. Gwyneth is not involved at all at this year’s Oscars, at least not yet, unless, of course, she’s to be announced as a presenter. Full Story

Bradley Cooper was on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night, likely pre-taped because he was out for dinner last night in LA with Irina Shayk for Valentine’s Day. Colbert presented Bradley with his Grammy for “Shallow” and, of course, they talked about A Star is Born, during Oscar voting week, when many Oscar voters are watching Colbert. Full Story

WENN

Last Friday, Sean Penn decided to grace us once again with his genius prose, writing a piece for Deadline about how his friend Bradley Cooper has a problem because he’s made the best film of the year and one of the greatest films of all time (according to Sean) but no one will give him credit for it. Full Story

Roma and The Favourite have the most Oscar nominations (10) this year. And, since it’s the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, The Favourite was always expected to do well at the BAFTAs. Roma took Best Picture, maintaining its position as the frontrunner with two weeks now to go before the Oscars, and Oscar voting set to begin on Tuesday and this is a strong showing, for sure. Full Story

Award season’s best fanboy is a role typically occupied by Timothee Chalamet – at least it was last year and for part of this year. And it’s not even an official “role” since we only made it up for Timmy. Still. There was a vacancy, since Timmy is not nominated for Oscar. Full Story
