Bradley Cooper was on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night, likely pre-taped because he was out for dinner last night in LA with Irina Shayk for Valentine’s Day. Colbert presented Bradley with his Grammy for “Shallow” and, of course, they talked about A Star is Born, during Oscar voting week, when many Oscar voters are watching Colbert. Full Story

Bradley Cooper plays defence

Last Friday, Sean Penn decided to grace us once again with his genius prose, writing a piece for Deadline about how his friend Bradley Cooper has a problem because he’s made the best film of the year and one of the greatest films of all time (according to Sean) but no one will give him credit for it. Full Story

Roma and The Favourite have the most Oscar nominations (10) this year. And, since it’s the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, The Favourite was always expected to do well at the BAFTAs. Roma took Best Picture, maintaining its position as the frontrunner with two weeks now to go before the Oscars, and Oscar voting set to begin on Tuesday and this is a strong showing, for sure. Full Story

Award season’s best fanboy is a role typically occupied by Timothee Chalamet – at least it was last year and for part of this year. And it’s not even an official “role” since we only made it up for Timmy. Still. There was a vacancy, since Timmy is not nominated for Oscar. Full Story

Bradley was embarrassed

Bradley Cooper was in New York yesterday, continuing to campaign for Oscar for A Star is Born, and sat with Oprah for an interview. The quote making headlines today is about the “snub”. I’m putting that in quotes because… well… let’s get to what he said first.  Of not being nominated for Best Director, here’s how Coop described it, per E! News: "I was not surprised. Full Story

Lady Gaga, the nominee

As people say about the Oscars Nominees luncheon, everyone is a winner. There are no losers (yet). Here’s Lady Gaga, the Oscar nominee, at the event yesterday in Louis Vuitton. We’ll come back to the fashion in a minute. This is about the experience, about the fact that she truly reveled in the experience of being there, one of the most exclusive invitations in the business. Full Story

Award season Spike

The Oscar nominees’ luncheon happened yesterday in LA. It was a full day of campaign stops as The Hollywood Reporter also hosted an event and the AARP held their annual Movies for Grownups Awards. Spike Lee made the rounds. And it reminds me of a question he was asked on the red carpet at one of the awards shows a couple of weeks ago: does award season get old for you? Or something like that. Full Story

Coop & Gaga lose and win

The Directors Guild Awards happened this weekend. Bradley Cooper was nominated for Best Director and Best First Time Director and lost both to Alfonso Cuaron and Bo Burnham respectively. I’m not sure it was a surprise that he didn’t win the first, especially after the Academy didn’t include him in their five nominees for Oscar Best Director. Full Story

Gaga & Bradley: the screen test

Even though the Oscar nominations were announced last week, actual voting for the Oscars doesn’t begin until February 12. The voting period starts two days after the BAFTAs and the Grammys. It lasts a week and ends the Tuesday before the Oscars. Which means there’s still a lot of time to campaign. Full Story

Bradley Cooper was at Lady Gaga’s show in Las Vegas on Saturday night. She invited him on stage to sing “Shallow” with her. Naturally it went viral. If you haven’t seen it yet, here are two angles. I prefer the second angle because…  Well…  We all know Gaga is extra. Full Story
