The cast of Bombshell, Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, and Margot Robbie, attended a special screening for the film last night in LA, just before the Screen Actors Guild nominations this morning. Bombshell came up big, with all three women earning nominations – Charlize in the leading category and both Nicole and Margot in supporting. Full Story

We’re doing more than one post today about the Golden Globe nominations but let’s start with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association because this is their event. This is a group of 90 or so international journalists known for making odd choices – and not always bad. In the television categories, the Globes often recognise new series and talent well ahead of the Emmys which can get caught in a rut, awarding the same shows and people over and over and over again. Full Story

Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach wore matching Raf Simons Laura Dern sweaters while presenting her with a special Tribute prize at the Gotham Independent Film Awards in New York last night. According to Greta, the real-life filmmaking couple had "been looking for an excuse to wear our Laura Dern sweaters" and seized the opportunity. Full Story

The National Board of Review will announce its best films, directors, and performers of the year tomorrow. The New York Film Critics Circle will make their announcements on Wednesday. Golden Globe nominations are coming a week today on Monday, December 9. How many times will Jennifer Lopez’s name come up?  She was already nominated for an Independent Spirit Award a couple of weeks ago for Best Supporting Actress, the first of her career. Full Story
