Entertainment Weekly’s new issue is the fall movie preview featuring on the cover perhaps the most highly anticipated movie of the season, Gone Girl. It’s Ben Affleck as Nick Dunne, the groom, with Rosamund Pike as Amy Dunne, the bride, and the girl who’s gone…
The wedding dress, the veil, Amy’s smile, that people-pleasing, ideal young wife smile…
And Ben. This is why I thought from the very beginning that Ben was perfectly cast. Because even though on paper he’s that guy – tall, handsome, dimples, jaw – there’s always been a hint of something that can’t be trusted about Ben Affleck. He’s 85% believable. But you can always smell that 15%, right?
Come on. If you and your friends came across this wedding portrait in a magazine, or Instagram, you’d say to each other that this guy’s leering at the bridesmaids or running a Ponzi scheme. Or both.
I can’t wait to see this movie.
