It’s Thanksgiving in the United States. And I haven’t bitched at you in a while about Friday Night Lights. So I guess this is perfect timing.

WHY HAVEN’T YOU WATCHED FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS?

You can binge this weekend. And then you can email me, grovelling about why it took you so long. I know this from experience.

Anyway, it was announced yesterday that Friday Night Lights will become a musical for one night in LA next summer, like Cruel Intentions last year. Scott Porter, aka Jason Street, aka “Six”, will play Coach Eric Taylor.

I didn’t need a song version to Clear Eyes, Full Hearts. I don’t need to hear “Texas forever” set to music. Because this is the only way that line should be delivered:

But I guess I wouldn’t mind sitting through a number about how much Tami Taylor needs her wine. And another number featuring Tami Taylor being great at her job, loving her job, and moving her family to another part of the country because of her job.

The best part though about this news is that most of them will show up. Reese Witherspoon, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Selma Blair all showed up for the Cruel Intentions musical. And I don’t see why Kyle Chandler, Connie Britton, Taylor Kitsch, Michael B Jordan, Minka Kelly, Aimee Teegarden, Jesse Plemons, Adrianne Palicki, etc etc etc wouldn’t show up for this.

That’s the gift the Friday Night Lights musical will give us. An updated family photo for the album.
