It’s an utterly meaningless Critics’ Choice Award, but still! Jenny Slate is awesome and she was awesome in Obvious Child and she won Best Actress in a Comedy for Obvious Child, so that’s awesome. She’s so pretty and I love her voice so much I just want to make out with her. And she gave a really nice speech that started by saying, “Interesting. Scary. Heavy.” It would have been hilarious if her whole speech was just reciting various adjectives. But though Slate is hella funny, this is the biggest award she’s won for Obvious Child and she had an actual speech prepared, in which she said intelligent things in her sexy voice because everything about Jenny Slate is great, forever. Have you seen Obvious Child? If not, you should. Slate’s really wonderful in it.
