With Shriners Hospitals for Children.
JT had his own PGA tournament in support of Shriners. According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, they're breaking up. Though Shriners acknowledges that Timberlake did "fulfill his obligations to the tournament and helped raise several million dollars...(he) wasn't able to generate greater interest in the tournament, and his star power wasn't enough to lure bigger-name players to the event on a consistent basis".
What?
JT wasn't gold?
Tournament chairman Raoul Frevel was very specific about why they were not interested in continuing:
"Justin's a wonderful person. But we tried everything we could to get him more involved with our kids and the hospitals. But it seemed that when the TV cameras weren't on, he disappeared."
But that's rather telling, non? They made efforts to engage him with the kids, the HOSPITAL. But when he wasn't getting attention for it, he lost interest. The word used here is "DISAPPEARED".
Now it's one thing to have the blogs sh-t on you. It's another when the representative of a non-profit calls you out for being an apathetic dick. It means you are a mega mega dick.
Last week he was unresponsive with the local media at the Ryder Cup - click here for a refresher. This week a charity is suggesting that his volunteer participation was found wanting. That's pretty definitive in my mind. I mean, it's not like he had an angel's reputation before anyway.
But he sang for them a few times! There's a concert happening! He's Justin Timberlake! Having his name attached to the event for 4 years was worth more than any sick kids visits! He did you guys a favour, don't you see? Why is Shriners so ungrateful? He lent his name to them! His name! Justin Timberlake! Do you even know the importance of that name? What more do these ungrateful motherf-cking charity people want?
God.
The man is an actor and a world class talent in a category of his own. They should consider themselves fortunate that he even bothered with them at all.
Now, let him go get married in peace.
