‘N SYNC reunion!

Justin Timberlake is receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the MTV VMAs this year. According to Page Six, as part of the tribute, ‘N SYNC will perform together – for the first time in, well, in over a decade.

Don’t front like you’re not dusting off your Wade Robson dance moves. I SEE YOU. Me too. This is the most excited I’ve been about anything to do with JT in a long, long, long time.

There was no Video Vanguard Award last year. Do you know who the last recipient of the Video Vanguard Award was?

Oh...just Britney Spears.

She did it in 2011.

You know who should present Justin Timberlake with his Video Vanguard Award?

Totally, TOTALLY Britney Spears.

And why?

Because she made him.

It’s Gonna Be Me? Sure. But only thanks to her.

There’s a reason he was singled out in a five piece. And it wasn’t because of his ringlets. As we’ve seen, and the Spice Girls are a great example, if all it took was talent, the pop culture landscape would look a lot different. Britney was a big ass deal. The ONLY deal. And JT rose at her side. Britney Spears was always going to be Britney Spears. But without Britney Spears, there would be no Justin Timberlake. It’s a truth he’s been fighting for a long, long time. Which is why it’s unlikely she’ll be there. Unless, you know, he wants to stick it to us.

Please Justin, STICK IT TO US.

PS. I always preferred It’s Gonna Be Me over Bye Bye Bye. JT’s opening arm stutter in the video still makes my life. Just watch it all the way through, right now. Tell me it doesn’t bring back some great memories, come on.
