Modern cookbooks seem to all have the same style of minimalist aesthetic – a bushel of carrots on a farm table, a mason jar of turmeric, a basket full of snap peas (from the gardennnnnn). If you’re looking for a book this weekend, I started You, by Caroline Kepnes. It has amazing pop culture references, (“a girl version of Adam Levine with beady eyes and unwarranted self-confidence”) but it’s so…. unnerving that I have to put it down every 5 pages because I get freaked out.
