Dear Gossips,
I think I’ve been kicked out of the Lambily. Because I missed Mimi’s Christmas Melody, the TV movie she directed. Forgot to set the PVR! That’s my project for the week – to find it, watch it, and enjoy every moment.
Did not however forget the PVR for Tina Fey and Amy Poehler co-hosting Saturday Night Live. It was worth it for that one sketch. That one sketch – and Bruce Springsteen – basically made the whole season. You know the sketch? It’s called Meet Your Second Wife. And while it’s not been confirmed that Tina and Amy wrote it, the assumption is that, yeah, of course, of course they wrote it. Or at least inspired it. Because it’s not like you don’t know their tone.
“Gravity is nominated for best film. It’s the story of how George Clooney would rather float away into space and die than spend one more minute with a woman his own age.”
And this:
Meet Your Second Wife is close, and awkward, and dark, and very, very, very funny. I’ve re-watched it 3 times now and there are still new things to laugh at. Like when Bobby Moynihan ends up accepting his fate, pretty much without argument. Because, well, that’s how it works, doesn’t it? The video is embedded below.
So. Did you spend the weekend with The Force? Sarah’s review – which is not spoilery – will be posted today, along with an update on the movie’s box office. Also a new pre-holiday mini-blind.
Yours in gossip,
Lainey
